DEAR FUTURE FILM SEASON
October - November 2024

'WILD MAGIC'

Wild Magic shines a light on our connections with the wild world and each other.

Rebecca E Marshall, Clare Whistler and Rachel Pearson are your hosts with special guests along the way. We warmly invite you to explore our programme of features, a woodland walk, live music and a celebration meal.

‘The Echo’ is a beautiful observational documentary of children growing up in a remote village learning from their animals and their elders. Our family film (classic Jim Henson) is ‘The Dark Crystal, a hugely enjoyable puppet film about forces fighting to regain balance. ‘20,000 Species of Bees’ portrays a family gaining new understandings of self-identity from bees. Homeground Kitchen will prepare an elemental four-course meal alongside the premiere of our film project ‘On Belonging’ that celebrates our four walking meditations of 2024, and we welcome the incredible violinist Joanna Lawrence.

SCREENING & DISCUSSION

In the remote village of El Echo that exists outside of time, the children care for the sheep, their land and their elders. They learn to understand death, illness and love with each act, word and silence of their parents. A story about the echo of what clings to the soul, about the certainty of shelter provided by those around us, about rebellion and vertigo in the face of life. About growing up. This is a docufiction set in Mexico.
